To draw a vector that points into (or out of) the plane of the drawing, first draw the vector in any direction (it should be of some non-zero length). In the vector definition window, for "degrees", select "Into the plane" (or "Out of the plane"). Fill in the rest of the slots. You should see a circle with an "X" inside to indicate that the vector you have drawn is pointing into the plane. (Or a circle with a dot inside to indicate that the vector is pointing out of the plane.)
